Project
University General Hospital
In 2006, University General elected to occupy an existing structure that had been designed for utilization as an office building.
As a result of changing the facility use from office space to an in‐patient facility, the overall challenge created some unique features. One of the challenges to over‐ come during the design assist phase was the overall lack of ceiling cavity. MLN Company was brought on early in the process to help with conceptual design, to work with the team members to establish the budget, and to assist in the completion of the construction drawings. As a result, the team met all objectives to provide the end product on time. Two additional floors were added halfway through construction without extending the project’s completion date.
